Every year I try to get out and photograph my own kids, with an actual camera, and with our Christmas card in mind. Living in a beautiful city like Buffalo makes it so easy to try out like ten different spots in a matter of an hour. This year we kept it simple- opting for downtown's lights and storefronts as our backdrop. It also helped that it was 50 degrees and that there was a Starbucks nearby! I was definitely walking on thin ic as I was cutting into someone's Fortnight time so we had to be quick. Here are some of my favorite outtakes- not all card worthy but definitely fun. Some truths from this photoshoot- I may or may not have had my kids stand in the middle of Main street, my favorite pictures are almost always candid, and small bribes go a long way in keeping faces smiling.

{the Mehaffys, holiday 2018 edition}
This season I've been very thankful to photograph so many families, both new and established. It has been a couple of years since I worked with the Mehaffys and although it was a much colder outing than the last time we met, the kids' energy was still present. After a few portraits with Baxter at the Mehaffy's home, we strolled around Hotel Henry a bit before slipping inside and wandering through the halls of the hotel. I definitely recommend doing this if you haven't yet. We came across the artworks of Buffalo artist Jozef Bajus as well as some in-progress holiday decorating. I can't wait to see how it all comes together!
