Sophia was the flower girl in her cousin Nicole's wedding two weeks ago.....it was my first excuse to be able to "stalk" the flower girl at a wedding without getting into trouble :) The best part was that she did not need much prompting to give me some great material. The wedding was in Ohio; we went to Mill Creek Park in Youngstown for the formals....what an amazing place...I wish we had something similar to this in Buffalo! After almost falling into a fountain and a taking more than a few tumbles into the grass, Sophia's dress was no worse for the wear and I was pretty happy with my images.
Sophia was all business....one petal at a time and she never once looked up....I think she was nervous!
I love this shot- so very Alice in Wonderland!
Sophia was setting the standard for posing......
So this shot was a little risky....but totally worth it.

[long time, no blog!]
wow, have the months gone by so quickly without a peep! i photographed a cozy, intimate wedding in december that I hope to show very soon, but in the meantime I thought I'd show a best of '07 of Sophia images- a little homage to her before baby brother arrives, which could really be any time now (it would be nice if he would just wait until after Friday, my last day of work.) hope everyone had a happy healthy holiday and that you're all enjoying the new year!

Here was one of our Christmas cards images this year...Sophia now understands the whole concept of posing, although it may not have been what I had in mind.

[halloween 07]
This year marked Sophia's first all-out Halloween extravaganza. It all began with a little goldfish costume that I purchased on clearance LAST year from babystyle....I figured that this was probably the last year that we might have some influence in what she would be. She decided along the way that was not only going to be a goldfish but a ballerina goldfish. Visually this was no different, but the dance effects were priceless.
On Wednesday night, we carved the pumpkin to the music of Nightmare Before Christmas. Afterwards we sat in the dark with only the candlelight of the Jack o' Lantern and the music...
Her first foray into the realm of trick or treating came on Saturday. The shops in the Elmwood Village open up their doors to the kids for a bit, so we walked up with Sophia's friend Brian and his family. She got the hang of it pretty quickly!

Later in the day, Sophia's other buddy, Seth, came to visit with his family. They are very close.
We also went out last night, over to Highland Avenue where there were tons of kids and families out on their porches...it makes us secretly want to move! Sophia went for an hour and a half before collapsing into her stroller.
Today, the spirit of Halloween is still strong....I am required to play the Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack continuously so she can practice her ballet, this time wearing her new snowsuit and zebra mask.

[Sophia's Famous!]
Or at least somewhat...I have been totally addicted to Apartment Therapy: The Nursery ever since we decided to create a big girl bedroom for Sophia....anyway, they recently asked for postings about family vacations, so I sent along some "wisdom" to ATN as well as this cool image from one of our hikes in our recent trips to the Adirondacks.
Thanks ATN for the post (and the groovy bib!)
