So it is true, I am cutting back on weddings.  A lot.  Not that I don't absolutely adore photographing beautiful people and things all day long, it's just that other things are filling my life as quickly as anything, or maybe it's that life has a way of slipping by a little bit faster everyday.  I kept this in mind last summer while booking for this year, but when my neighbor mentioned to me that his friend was having a vintage barn wedding, I begged him, literally, to mention my name to the bride.  And thankfully, I can now say that I have photographed my dream wedding.  Just about everything at this wedding was handmade.  By the BRIDE.  And there were succulents.  In concrete.  And Pimm's Cups.  And odd little mason symbols in the bathroom of the house, but that's for another day.  And so because it is my dream wedding, I am definitely about to overshare.  It helps too that the couple was super amazingly adorable (remember?) and that everything was a perfect reflection of them.

The wedding took place in Cassadaga, about 8 miles or so outside of Fredonia, only about an hour from Buffalo.

No one would ever have guessed that Buffalo would be 80 degrees on the first Saturday in May.  What I was certain of was that I couldn't have begun my 2013 wedding season with a sweeter couple! Everything else just naturally falls into place.










Golf is a huge part of Patrick's life.  He just so happens to be the current champion at Brierwood (where the reception took place).  To honor that passion, Susan made him a special gift that looks just like him!

Chapter 3 on the blog for Kristen and Rob!....I couldn't be happier for my dear friend and colleague, Kristen, who is expecting her first little baby boy.  We went down to Tifft last week for a walk around.  I'm super excited to meet their new little guy! (and so is Bailey, I think....babies=floor snacks!)

As much as I'd like to tell you that I have been off seeing the world and completely unable to blog in the meantime, I just can't.  I have definitely made the decision to step away from doing so many photoshoots, not that I don't enjoy doing them, but there comes that time when your children are speeding away from you like shooting stars and you just want to try to savor every moment.  I mean, I can't even remember when they looked like this:




I do have a bit of catching up to do, and a few weddings and things to share with you this summer, so please don't think I am ignoring you.  In the meantime, more Maeve.




Maeve is the sweet little daughter of Katie and Bob, whose wedding I photographed last year.  They certainly have kept up the tradition of making beautiful things!
