[molly and greg]

on sunday, I braved the cold to meet with molly and greg at the Knox Farm State Park in east aurora NY. This is where they will be getting married in may....what a beautiful place! rolling hills that overlook a valley, a scattering of red farm buildings and even sheep! definitely a great place to go for a spring walk (when it is not 20 degrees anymore.)

[e continued...]

i have a feeling that I have a new obsession....it wasn't enough for me to take endless pictures of Sophia (although endlessly frustrating, as she now has her own ideas of good photography that conflict with my own!) now, every day that the light is somewhat nice, a rarity in the february days of late, my camera is seeing a lot of action.

[leah and matt]

on december 15 i was reunited with the Fabiano family, this time to photograph Leah's wedding to Matt. What a lovely family affair....the ceremony took place at Christ the King in Amherst and the reception was a cozy one at the Stillwater (formerly Lord Chumley's). Leah looked so classic, particularly in her vintage reproduction wool coat....both of them were sweethearts to work with, and afterwards I felt really like a part of the family! Here are some of the highlights.....

[e.]

being pregnant this time around seemed to go so quickly, but at the same time it was forever. the evening of january 21 came out of nowhere....maybe it was the Bowie from Flight of the Conchords that lured him out, but Ethan decided it was time. he arrived at 1:48 am, only 4 hours after the dvd ended. he's a rather dashing fellow, and sister sophia is pretty into him. so are we.

[long time, no blog!]

wow, have the months gone by so quickly without a peep! i photographed a cozy, intimate wedding in december that I hope to show very soon, but in the meantime I thought I'd show a best of '07 of Sophia images- a little homage to her before baby brother arrives, which could really be any time now (it would be nice if he would just wait until after Friday, my last day of work.) hope everyone had a happy healthy holiday and that you're all enjoying the new year!

Here was one of our Christmas cards images this year...Sophia now understands the whole concept of posing, although it may not have been what I had in mind.

[halloween 07]

This year marked Sophia's first all-out Halloween extravaganza. It all began with a little goldfish costume that I purchased on clearance LAST year from babystyle....I figured that this was probably the last year that we might have some influence in what she would be. She decided along the way that was not only going to be a goldfish but a ballerina goldfish. Visually this was no different, but the dance effects were priceless.

On Wednesday night, we carved the pumpkin to the music of Nightmare Before Christmas. Afterwards we sat in the dark with only the candlelight of the Jack o' Lantern and the music...

Her first foray into the realm of trick or treating came on Saturday. The shops in the Elmwood Village open up their doors to the kids for a bit, so we walked up with Sophia's friend Brian and his family. She got the hang of it pretty quickly!

Later in the day, Sophia's other buddy, Seth, came to visit with his family. They are very close.

We also went out last night, over to Highland Avenue where there were tons of kids and families out on their porches...it makes us secretly want to move! Sophia went for an hour and a half before collapsing into her stroller.

Today, the spirit of Halloween is still strong....I am required to play the Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack continuously so she can practice her ballet, this time wearing her new snowsuit and zebra mask.

[kristen and tim]

On October 13, I photographed the wedding of kristen and tim...I actually went to high school with Kristen, and was referred to her through one of my teaching colleagues....it turned out to be a beautiful day, although the forecasts called for rain. The ceremony and reception were both at the Historical Society, an amazing architectural gem of Buffalo with all black marble columns and floors inside.

Tim surprised Kristen with his idea of snazzy wedding attire...

Just about the coolest bouquets I have ever seen....and the rings are beautiful too!
Tim had his mother's wedding band incorporated into his own.

Glo sticks were the hit of the party later on...

[heather and paul, part 2]

on September 28, I had the good fortune to work with the wolwiec family once again- a few years ago I had photographed a lovely couple [david and elizabeth], and was recently contacted by elizabeth's sister, laurie to photograph her son's wedding. it was a small family affair, after which I felt like I was a part! here are just a few of the images from the evening....

Todd Jr. was the man of the party!
