{The Mittendorf family}

I spent the last Saturday morning of the summer on Angola on the Lake photographing the Mittendorf family.  The entire family was assembled to celebrate Eloise's first birthday, providing the ideal opportunity to capture everyone on "film".  I would have loved to spend more time capturing all of the kids individually as well as in their group- here are some of my favorites from the shoot.  Most of the time I am really attracted to color, but there were so many images that just shouted black and white.  Thanks for looking!

{Emily and Cody}

I have been busy with so many things this summer, and I haven't been doing as much photography as usual. So I was really excited to have the opportunity to photograph my husband's niece's wedding in Ohio last weekend!  I first met Emily when she was around 2 years old, so to see her all grown up and getting married was bittersweet.  One of the best parts of the weekend was being able to see my kids play with their young cousins, whom they rarely see- Ezra who moved back from China with his mom and dad, Katie and Andrew, and Madison, who lives in Columbus.  It was a perfect weekend!

{the Boyer family}

I was introduced to the Boyers through two dear friends of mine....their daughter, Hannah has leukemia and was in town for a short time, away from her treatments at St. Jude in Memphis, and my friends had asked me to photograph the family.  Christmas Eve turned out to be the best day, and it just so happened that while I was there, Hannah had a visit from Santa!  Hannah and her brother, Asher got to spend a lot of time with Santa and received some pretty awesome gifts as well.  Hannah's whole family was there to enjoy the visit too, before Hannah and her mom, Chandra make the return trip to Memphis in a few days.  For me it was an amazing experience to spend time with such a joyous and hopeful family on Christmas Eve. Hannah is such a spitfire- so smart and playful.  Her brother, Asher is incredibly sweet and patient, even when being called "little tiny brother" over and over again.  The rest of the family embodies so much strength and love despite the difficulties they have endured.  The Boyers do have a Go Fund Me page; I do hope you will visit it and share it widely: https://www.gofundme.com/hannahboyer

Merry Christmas!!
