[Piper and Ruby, take two]

One of my favorite things about photographing families is watching them grow.  Last January I posted newborn pics of Piper, and I recently was able to photograph her and her sister Ruby once again. We met up at Sweet Jenny's in Williamsville for a session that ended Piper's first taste of ice cream. The girls' mom, Aubrey, is still one of the most fashionable people I have ever met, even while balancing a 2 year old and a 9 month old on the verge of walking!

[Maggie Rose]

Within the flurry of photoshoots I have done in the last week, there was Maggie Rose.  A senior at Buffalo Seminary, she is a creative and vibrant young woman who plans on studying video in college.  She was super fun to work with and was very free-spirited throughout the shoot...I loved that she could envision the ideas I had, and she was a natural in how she carried herself- no doubt having a filmmaker's eye.   We first met up at the Historical Society and and then went down to Wilkeson Point in the outer harbor, as she rows crew for Sem and is happiest when she's near the water.

[the Cannon Family]

A little while back, a friend of mine introduced me to the Cannons. Christine and Joel have three beautiful little girls, Megan, Raegan and Addy.  Addy, the oldest, has a condition which at first presented as Cerebral Palsy that has been causing degeneration of her brain mass and body's function. At the moment they are still searching for answers, as they have been yet unable to identify the actual causes of her condition.  Despite this, she smiles like the sun when her family sings to her and snuggles her close.  The whole family is a testament to the strong bonds that love creates.  I was honored to be able to photograph them at Glen Falls park last week in Williamsville.

[Lauren and Justin, the engagement]

The past few weeks have been a flurry of photoshoots, with a few more on the way. The first one I want to share is an engagement shoot that happened down by Hoyt Lake in Delaware park. I hadn't met Lauren and Justin in person up to this point, as they had been planning their wedding from out of town. It's always a bit unnerving to work this way, but having an engagement session before the wedding helps all of us to ease any anxiety we might have about being photographed or working out nervousness throughout the shoot. Lauren and Justin turned out to be naturals! I think their love for each other really comes through in these images. Not only that, they are both really passionate about the environment and had fun interacting with the natural elements in the park.
I had a great time working with them and I can't wait to be at their wedding in October.
