On a very sunny but VERY cold Sunday, Kathryn and Travis were married....I don't think I have ever experienced such an enthusiastic congregation of people prior to the ceremony and throughout the rest of the evening.....lots of really good energy to start them off right! Their ceremony was at Kingdom Hall in Orchard Park and their reception was at the Millenium Hotel in Cheektowaga. And perhaps my new favorite location to photograph for the moment anyway- Chestnut Ridge Park.

[tara and bradley]
I know, I know....i changed my font color! But it is only appropriate for posting tara and bradley's wedding pics....they completely embraced a winter wonderland theme that was complimented by about 10 degree weather. There were blue lights, blue flowers, a blue cake and blue shoes, the BEST blue punch served up by the Historical Society where they were married (along with some seriously strong blue drinks at Casa di Pizza afterwards, of which I did not partake....) and best of all, a Snow Cone machine! Tara should seriously consider taking up a career in wedding design after pulling all of this together so flawlessly! She designed her dress and all of the decor at the reception.....a photographer's dream!
Incidentally, there is a remarkable photography show at the Buffalo Historical Society- "Cathedrals of Industry", images of Buffalo's grain elevators by Michael L. Horowitz.
Finally, Ava, their little girl stole the show with her awesome pouf of a dress and busting many moves on the dance floor all night...

[lori and mike]
My first official wedding of 2009 was a quaint little affair.....Lori and Mike celebrated their marriage in east aurora, accompanied by their closest family and friends. The reception afterwards took place at the Roycroft Inn, a place that decidedly is my dream home, if it were indeed a home at all. Lori and Mike are such a sweet couple and I think they agree it was well worth the wait!

[kathryn and travis: engagement shoot]
k and t are getting married next march, here is their pre wedding shoot at the Botannical Gardens (did I mention it is my new favorite place to photograph?) What an adorable couple, they remind me of students I have had in the past, so full of youth and an energetic vibe that I definitely could bottle and sell (or just hoarde for myself.)

I absolutely LOVE this photo from Grosgrain ....Kathleen has recently opened a store selling her clothing line, and I hope that this giveaway outfit makes it to the store. Wouldn't Sophia look awesome in it?

[elisabete and matthew]
probably one of the most eclectic weddings that I had the chance to photograph this year...elisabete is an architect and her love for the industrial side of buffalo was a high priority for our photoshoot (you may remember their engagement shoot...) Gorgeous day and a beautiful ceremony at the Botannical gardens (which I have decided that I could photograph there every day and never tire of it) with photos at Squaw Island and the grain elevators in Buffalo. Their reception was at the Roycroft Inn. This is the last wedding til January, which I just sadly realized is not as far away as I thought.
A few thoughts for those of you getting married: if you want to get fabulous prep pictures, rent a room at the Holiday Inn on Delaware Ave....
